SBM is specialized since 1991 in the design, manufacturing and marketing of biological implants for bone surgery. The main focus is the development and availability to the medical community of resorbable surgical devices based on synthetic materials, which promote healing as well as the efficient replacement of human tissue.
The BIO-1® resorbable Tricalcium Phosphate Implants for Bone Void Filling are the first resorbable bone void filler approved in Europe under the CE mark. They are also the first implants, with the LIGAFIX composite screws, to be “FDA Cleared” for sale in the USA.
Other SBM anatomical implants and systems from various innovative materials are also approved under the CE mark in Europe.
SBM created in 1996 the 1st unique wedge for High Tibial Osteotomy by internal addition in substitution to the autograft. This wedge is now available in different porosities, and may be associated with a rigid plate developed by SBM, which represents the single complete system on the market.
SBM is also the only company to manufacture the DUOSORB composite material (β-TCP/PLLA) with 60% β-TCP.
Continuous advancement in new materials and processes is realized with 25% of SBM resources dedicated to Research and Development. A team of highly qualified specialists and a worldwide network of private and research laboratories has provided the industry recognized experience for innovative products. This innovation policy, within SBM, is strongly supported by our staff of engineers and PhDs, with complimentary specialities, including biology, mechanical design, material science, ceramics, chemistry and injection moulding...
The full integration of such resources provides the development of proprietary products in a fully-controlled manufacturing process, which is monitored through a Quality Control program and meets FDA 510K approval and ISO 13485/9001 standard.
Firmly set up on the French market, we have expanded the activity abroad in 35 countries for the sales and development of new products, which meet the demands of the medical industry worldwide.
